Trebor employees collected and donated $1,280, along with new clothes, toys and other children’s items, to Salt Lake City’s The Christmas Box House during the 2007 Holiday season.

The Christmas Box House, inspired by the book The Christmas Box, by Richard Paul Evans, receives children who need a place to stay while their environment at home is not safe, or while awaiting placement in foster care. Children are given physical, mental, and emotional care in a home-like environment. Older youth are also given assistance at The Christmas Box House to ease the transition between foster care and adult living. The mission of The Christmas Box House is “to prevent child abuse and to improve the quality of life for children who have been abused or neglected” (www.thechristmasboxhouse.org).

Greg Orr, Trebor President, commented, “We presented the idea of sponsoring a charitable cause in lieu of a holiday party to our employees. They unanimously agreed on the charity. I’m delighted by the strong show of support our employees made by generously donating to such a worthy cause like The Christmas Box House. Trebor was pleased to include a matching donation.”

This latest patent protects a key technology integral to TREBOR's high purity air operated chemical pumps in critical process applications. Specifically, the use of fiber optics for end-of-stroke external pump control, cycle counting, and pump diagnostics. The non-electrical fiber optic probes are safe from explosion risk, while the metal-free design is corrosion resistant and eliminates metal contamination risk commonly associated with proximity or conductive style sensors.

Rick Steck, Chief R&D Engineer at TREBOR, is one of the inventors of record. He reports, “We continue to see more and more customers interested in external control and performance monitoring of their chemical pumps. Our complete family of fiber optic probes for cycle counting, stroke control, and leak sensing provides them with the integrated solution they need.” According to Mr. Steck, Trebor has been at the forefront of fiber optic pump control and monitoring solutions for many years.
