Position/Title: Financial Analyst
Location: Trebor – West Jordan, Utah

SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst is responsible for several general ledger and financial accounting assignments including specific month –end close tasks. In addition, this position assists the Finance Manager with analysis and preparation of the monthly reporting packages, the annual operating plan, and monthly forecast. As well, this position will prepare ad hoc financial analysis to support business growth. Process accounts payable and streamline process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure key accounting routines are completed timely. These include:
    1. Assigned journal entry postings and GL account reconciliations.
    2. Maintain prepaid accounts, expenses, and amortizations.
    3. Determine if use tax is payable and maintain accrual with proper supporting documents.
    4. Ensure timely vendor invoice payment, reconcile and resolve discrepancies, while maintaining excellent vendor relationships.
    5. Responsible for monitoring & reporting for employee related programs, including Concur expense reporting and relocation expense.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting.
  • Assist in monitoring cost and product line profitability analysis.
  • Assist in preparation and analysis of annual budgeting and monthly forecast process.
  • Assist with preparation of ad hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Utilize Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools, to reduce process variation, eliminate non-value added activities and defects and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in at least one Kaizen event or on at least one six sigma project team annually.
  • Expect to advise the Finance Manager immediately of any errors, irregularities or significant adjustments or journal entries as they occur.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs all other duties as assigned or directed.
  • Assists with the coordination of audits/reviews performed by internal and external auditors.
  • Recommends, coordinates and assists with the implementation, improvement and maintenance of accounting control and financial systems.
  • Analyzes and interprets financial data as required. Applies knowledge of financial expense, budget and internal accounting control as required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS POSITION

In this general office and manufacturing environment, you need the ability to: lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally, movement within office complex, write by hand and keyboard, general office functions. Ability to communicate by speech and hearing continuously. Communication is by phone and in person. Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Prior work experience preferred in accounting / finance function in form of internship or full/ part-time employment. Analytical skills required.
  • Detail and process oriented.
  • Strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of GAAP.
  • Good oral and written communication skills necessary.
  • Work effectively in a team environment, within and outside of the Finance Department.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
