Chemical Heater Selection Guide

IQ Chemical Heaters from Trebor® are used in both single pass and recirculation heating systems. The graphs and table below can help in sizing your heater for the application. It is recommended that all heaters are oversize 20% to allow for control. As with any general reference data, accuracy should be verified with creditable sources.

Chart 1: Change in Temperature per Fluid Pass (H20)

For chemicals other than water – Select the X factor related to the fluid from the Table One below. The Change in Fluid Temperature per Pass can be calculated by dividing the temperature change of water into the X factor and looking up the flow / heater power on Graph One above.

Chart 2: Time to Increase Various Tank Volumes 10ยบ C (H20)

For chemicals other than water – Select the X factor related to the fluid from the Table 1 below. The Time to Increase Various Tank Volumes can be calculated by multiplying the temperature change of water into the X factor and looking up the time / heater power on Graph 2 above.
